Drai'kein Plants

Basics

Drai'kein plants are a MEDIUM level threat to those it comes into contact with. They are spore-creating, omnivorous, flying plants. Resembling what most would see as a 'man-o-war', these plants can survive on water AND on land from both feeding from other plants and animals or photosynthesis.

When threatened, they release a high-pitched supersonic shriek to ward enemies or threats away from them, however, they use this same shriek in different pitches to communicate with other colonies of Drai'kein.

Appearance

Colony (seen on upper left), inside shot (bottom left), the plant itself (right, spore-bearing)

As stated before, they clearly resemble jellyfish in the sense that the cap is jellified and transparent. There is a hole on the top of the caps that leads to the mouth on the inside of the plant (which has teeth, tongues and all that good stuff). The roots and tendrils that hang from the cap can get up to 18 feet in length, and the cap can get up to 14 feet wide/6 feet tall.

Hunting/Colonies

Usually, when hunting, these creatures sit either on top of the water to collect fishes and put them in their mouths, or dig themselves into holes in the sand and attract birds and other small animals with their sweet-smelling spores (created by using the air chemicals and transmuting them into spores with their tendril-roots). As a collective colony, these creatures will LOOK like a group of algae covered rocks huddled together, but in fact, they are predatory plants!
