The Meaning of Kima Tanta

In Hraichi, Kima Tanta means "Love of Life", and it has been turned into a holiday celebrated at the beginning of Spring, as everything truly becomes "alive" again for the year. To every race, elves moreso in particular, life is a blessing, and should be celebrated as such.

The Celebration

Normally, families on this day gather in parks or in forests to watch the flowers bloom together, where they exchange gifts. Originally (when it was first made), children and adults alike would create something for the person who created them, telling them how much they "love their life". Nowadays, this has tapered down to an exchange of creative gifts for the whole family, and not just the ranks of who made whom.

Instead of staying at home and having parties, these families that do celebrate this holiday have picnics in the woods and play games with their children and parents, playing music or even doing something artistic together. Even if a person isn't really an artist, they can celebrate this imaginative holiday!

The Basics

  • The gift must be MADE by hand. It cannot be bought.
  • Only 3 moons are aligned at this time, but since it is spring, all of nature seems to be perking up!
  • Kima Tanta lasts until the sun goes down of the first day of spring.
  • Sadira does not celebrate this holiday. And won't.
  • Kima Tanta is an Hriachi Tradition.
