Many "tribes" of elves have a sort of hierarchy, established to keep the clans balanced, as well as helping each other survive in the great wilderness that is Neverwere.
The hierarchy doesn't assume that one job is more powerful within the tribe than another, except for the tribe's leader, who is considered to be royalty, a title earned through glory in battles and continuing the bloodline from then on.
"General" Hierarchy
- Elder/Wiseman - See prophecies and give advice to the mavens as necessary.
- Chieftain - The leader of the clan.
- Maven - Advisor to the chieftain.
- Priestess/Cleric - Heal the sick, wounded, and ill-spirited.
- Legate - Second in command, acts as Chieftain when he/she is out.
- Ambassador - For cross-tribe communication, as well as cross-race communication.
- Regent - Typically an assistant to the Ambassador, trained to protect him/her at all costs.
- Hunter/Huntress - Hunt food for the tribe.
- Augurer - Teach magic spells to those willing to learn.
- Shaman - Masters of alchemy and enchantments.
- Alchemists - Create poisons and potions to aid the adventurers and explorers that come and go.
- Thaumaturge - Otherwise known as an exorcist, they expel bad spirits that haunt the tribe, are capable of curing nightmares.
- Voyagers - Scout out new lands, take small groups of scouts with them.
- Weaponsmiths - Make weapons for the groups.
